It’s easy to forget all that Georgia has to offer. In case you didn’t know, it’s the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and appropriately, where The King Center memorial is located. If you haven’t seen Macon’s Tubman African American Museum, you should, and you might as well visit the National Prisoner of War Museum too, where you can experience rare exhibits and artifacts from the American Civil War. If history’s not your bag, try a trip to Appalachian Mountains, where memorable adventures await. Indian Springs State Park and Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge are popular too, as are the miles of off-road trails, roaring rivers, and scenic country roads throughout the state. Not an outdoorsman? That’s okay. Both Savannah and Atlanta host plenty of cultural events, music venues, and nightlife. Catching an Atlanta Braves baseball game at Turner Field also makes for one grand slam of an evening. So, if you think you’ve seen the best Georgia has to offer, think again, because there’s always plenty to do and see. Georgia, what a peach!

Located in the Deep South, Georgia is a state with a long history and a lot of soul. As one of the original 13 colonies, Georgia was a military buffer between the Spanish in Florida and the British in South Carolina. The city of Andersonville is home to the National Prisoner of War Museum where visitors can experience exhibits and artifacts from the American Civil War. Georgia is also rich in African-American culture. This is the state where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was born and where his memorial, The King Center, is located. Macon’s Tubman African American Museum is also a must-see. But there’s more to Georgia than just history. In the western part of the state are the Appalachian Mountains, the oldest mountain range in the world where hikers and campers are sure to have an exciting and memorable adventure. And to the east are green rolling hills that lead to Georgia’s beautiful sandy beaches along the great Atlantic seaboard. Among the many quaint, quiet beach towns along the coast, you’ll also want to visit the famed city of Savannah, which offers great city life right alongside the many natural wonders your bound to find at the coast. Visitors can also catch an Atlanta Braves baseball game at Turner Field to score one grand slam of an evening. Indian Springs State Park and Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge are popular tourist destinations as well. And if that’s not enough, there are also miles of off-road trails, roaring rivers, and scenic country roads to explore. Southern cuisine is also a specialty in Georgia, where you’ll find plenty of comfort food, fresh seafood, fresh peanuts, and delicious pecan pies, to name only a few. All of this served up with a healthy dose of that famous Southern charm is sure to make anyone hungry for more and ready for another unforgettable trip to the great state of Georgia.
